Warehouse Specialists work in warehouse settings where they are responsible to pull, pack and ship orders in an accurate manner along with loading and unloading freight while providing direct customer services. This position requires an individual to be extremely dexterous where physical and mental work is concerned as warehouse specialists may be required to operate forklift and perform mathematical calculations. The successful candidate is also responsible for keeping accurate inventory records, inventory counts and part locations. Must have the ability to accurately work in a fast pace environment, physically handle cartons of various sizes, work with numbers, and have attention to detail. Previous use of barcode scanning equipment and warehouse experience is a must.
Successful candidate should be safety conscious, prompt, have good attendance, detail oriented, a dedicated team player, able and willing to learn, able to follow instructions/procedures carefully, and continually maintain a positive attitude. Requires excellent organizational skills, ability to read and follow documentation, demonstrate good attention to detail and have good computer skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
This candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years of warehouse experience, shipping experience using UPS/FedEx software and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, memos, and to write correspondence. This position requires the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with managers, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. The successful candidate must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
