We are currently seeking a Research and Development Intern to join our dynamic team in a very hands-on, developmental role. Please note that this is a PAID internship.

Job Summary:

The Research and Development Intern will perform testing and analysis activities on Kent Displays’ eWriters to determine basic properties, durability, and environmental performance of the devices. Keeping documentation current and providing timely project report-outs are critical to the role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and evaluate pressure sensitive displays using a spectrophotometer, environmental testing equipment, and automated techniques to determine basic e-Writer properties.
  • Assemble and test display devices to characterize durability and environmental performance.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and excel spreadsheets to ensure all documentation is complete and current.
  • Provide timely project updates in writing and in meetings, as required, to ensure stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Training and education in physics, chemistry, physical sciences, materials science, optics, or engineering required, and prefer a current student in science, engineering, or technical field.
  • Ability to effectively analyze data, develop write-ups, and communicate results is required.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and drive job activities is required.
  • Strong computer skills that enable data acquisition, data analysis, and reporting is required.
  • Hands-on experience in materials development and testing is preferred.
  • Experience in building prototypes and experimental setup is preferred.
  • Screen printing skills are preferred.
  • Stable work history is required.
